The confidence, the comraderie, the support, athleticism, those are all
Derby….but not the strange violence.
Derby, WFTDA derby, is an athletic, full contact sport. Hitting does
happen, but not fighting, tackling, or other actions that are just about
injuring someone.

I’m a girl but I don’t roller derby. I skateboard but I think this is
really neat and like skateboarding, roller derby let’s girls kick ass even
though there aren’t as many female skateboarders.
I thought about doing it…but this video made me change my mind. I don’t
like anything in the pain family, that includes bee stings and paper cuts.
But kudos to those that do!

rollers, and I am so proud of her, I’m just waiting until I’m 16 to join
cause we don’t have a junior league in england :’c
obviously (wethepeoplerocks) has never heard Queen. Fat bottom girls make
this world go round! I love this sport and this fat chick has been rocking
it for over a year now!

life for the better. I am much happier, smarter, stronger and more
confident in all aspects. I didn’t know how to skate before I joined, my
league taught me. I don’t know where I would be without it. Roller derby
saved my life.
hey, anybody can do rollerderby. One girl on my team, Big Pappa, she’s one
of the quietest people i know, but she can lay a mean hit. And even if you
are a klutz, you can still learn how to skate 🙂 thats one of the beauties
of this sport.

skate as much as you can, and watch more experienced skaters to see how you
do it. Don’t be afraid to ask more experienced derby girl for help.
