Judy Sowwinski is one of the reasons I got interested Roller Games in the
first place. Always preferred Roller Derby with Joan Weston.

wow! i use to watch this roller derby action progarm on the spanish channel
47 nyc every wednesday nights featuring the philadelphia warriors right
after florida nwa championship wrestling with gordon soli c.1974. i laughed
so much when philadelphia warriors little richard brown clobbered new york
bombers leader ronnie rains & i loved the women roller derby skaters a lot
as well! though there were earlier black & white roller derby that i also
watched on tv wpix channel 11 right before the john zackerly scary show in
the mid sixties. i was always looking forward to saturday tv programs cause
back in the days we had superhero cartoons, cliffhanger action & horror
movies also live action superhero series & of course roller derby &
wrestling! i can’t say much about todays tv program unless someone has
cable & not even that cause cable sucks too!
I view the appearance of sally vega as the beginning of the downfall of
roller games, that’s when it started to appear too phony. this must’ve been
when they were setting up to send the great sowinski to philly with the
greatest, judy Arnold,

judy arnold , judy sowinski and candi mitchell were the baddest female
skaters on the planet; judy arnold was my favorite. and how ironic that
judy sowinski is now a long time resident of south philly.

Sorry to hear about Judy. She was my favorite “bad”girl skater.
it was just a couple of years ago, ironically, in philadelphia. she had
become a long time resident and was coaching for girls flat-track derby
teams in the area. she was a resident od south philly. if i can find more
i’ll let you know. very sad.
