Just wondering, is the constant slippimg, tripping and falling something
that is to be expected in the girl’s games or is it just lack of experience
in this case?
@929Mikey its like resiling while the rest of the girls try to hold back
the other team one girl called the jammer will try to get passed and do a
lap to get a point

@lasktguy Do you think it would be different if it was boys doing it? I can
tell you that that is not the case. In this case this was Sweden’s first
bout ever, the “slipping, tripping and falling” has to do with the blocks
and hits we give eachother. You wouldn’t be able to take a strike from one
of these girls and not fall while being on skates.

it look so much harder to throw a block on flat track – some good defense
here though as someone who once tried out for Derby. I would be penalized
here constantly as when a jammer stooped down to come around me to get a
point I would have popped then down ward on the shoulder to knock off the
stride ( probably ill eagle here) but I promise they would have went down –
long live derby!!!

@RustedMetalHeart Just so you know, I’ve been a skater for years, trained
coed for years, trained on banked and flat track, and I was a trainer. I
didn’t know this was their first game so it’s understandable they’re
shakey. But I saw lots of falls and slips that had nothing to do with the
girl’s blocks. They were simply slips. As I said, since you’re new that’s
to be expected and you’ll just keep getting better..Lastly no, your girls
could not knock me down on their best day.

@Samuel20BH Not necessarily. There are men’s leagues, but they’re not as
many and not as widespread. It’s all part of what makes the game
interesting.
