This video was all kinds of filthy! I, personally, would LOVE to see GoPros
in an official game, but I’m going to try and be as realistic as possible…
There’s no way the NHL and NHLPA will allow players to wear gopros on them
during an official game. Let’s think logically… you put it on a player
who’s going to go all out, checking, blocking shots, taking shots, taking
hits, etc. A few of them are bound to fall off and/or break (that’s money
lost). There’s too much physicality in the game for the GoPro to be safe
and secure. IF they do use them, they’ll probably use them for shootouts
(for however long the NHL decides to keep shootouts), put them on the refs
helmets for different angles, and maybe on star players who are more likely
to score highlight reel goals. There are very specific rules to the game
involving sticks, helmets, equipment, etc. I feel like the NHL would have
to change a few rules to get GoPro’s on players during an official game.
BUT, that’s just my opinion… like I said, it would be awesome to see
them, but I don’t see how the NHL, NHLPA, and Player’s Safety will allow
it.

Ice hockey is alot of fun, I was fastest on my team too. Its great
teamwork, moving fast is a joy, handling the puck, and taking shots. The #1
thing I hate about hockey, are the guys with huge egos and think they’re
better than everyone. Most hockey players are like that.

What I’m curious about is how some of the cameras are mounted. For
instance, with Toews at around 28 seconds into the clip (and 2-3 shots
right after that). The camera clearly follows the player, but it doesn’t
appear to be mounted on the helmet, since the player’s head turns but the
camera keeps pointing at his face…
Anybody knows how it works?

People slowly realizing how amazing hockey is, by far the hardest TEAM
sport to play. We just have to figure out how to make equipment less
expensive and built more ice-rinks in all countries.
