Hockey will, and always will be, CANADA’S sport.
Canada didn’t deserve this. Canadian refs and one of Sweden’s best players
was disqualified hours before the game. No honor in winning this for
Canada.

more by removing bäckström for dope, then throw in canadian referencies in
the very final, there was other judges available you know.
well I could as well just watched it as history nostalgia later on instead
of directly, the outcome was already set from the start of the game…did
anyone think anything else?
Just saying that the circumstances wasn´t there to have a decent matching
game everyone could take pride of, sad for sweden, sad for canada who
didn´t get recognized as winning a truly competive game where all the best
is up against eachother, sad for the crowd and tv audience not getting a
good value for the game.

I haven’t ever seen Tre kronor being outplayed like this, almost didn’t
think it was possible. But apparently Canada is top dog no doubt about it.

It’s so weird hearing a british announcer use hockey slang, like “OFF THE
PIPE!” He’s reading all that stuff right off of a paper
I am actually pretty stoked on this play by play guy. I can’t exactly
explain why. Perhaps because it sounds so much like play by play on a
soccer game and I’m unlikely to ever hear the play by play of a World Cup
Final featuring a Canadian side. If you just listen and don’t watch you
could almost picture it’s a soccer game. I admit though I may have been
less than impressed if this was my only option to watch on the morning of
the game.
Canada deserved to win because team Canada was a better team who wanted the
gold more than team Sweden.

Congrats to Team Sweden & Team Finland in winning the silver and bronze
medal. Well earned medals by both teams. Unfortunately our neighbour to
the south of us gave up in the bronze game. What a shame for hockey.

2002 may have been the best personel though.
An awesome match between two big nations in this sport. Canadians firmly
proved why they won most of their matches (with relative ease) in this
tournament. Anyway, it was a really enjoyable match… I hope to see Canada
win the next Olympics.

Hate to say it as a US citizen, but deserved tournament win for Team
Canada.
Before the game we had a small chanche by winning the gold, But then
Bäckström got suspended and we didnt even had a small chanche. But even
with Sedin, Bäckström, Franzén and Zetterberg Canada had won 7 games out of
10. But we did it good in the final, i wounder what would happened if
Nyquist shot in the post would go in…

their best players or the refs were Canadian, they won because they were
the better team!
