The English Ice Hockey Association is looking for an enthusiastic person to manage and over see the under 20 league. The Association is about to establish a new league for the under 20’s. We see the establishment of this league as an opportunity for people to remain in the game. We believe that many of our players leave the sport because they have very little opportunity to join the senior teams. Establishing this league will hopefully help players to remain in the sport for longer and continue develop their skills.
The task would be to work with teams and clubs in your region ensuring that the rules of competition are adhered to, teams are well managed and organised, the league/s are well structured and planned. The successful person/s will also oversee the development of the league, provide a communication point for all teams, address disciplinary issues, establish and provide a framework which will enable teams and clubs to nurture and develop talent and provide an access point for people who wish to continue in the sport.
You should have strong organisational and administrative skills, with an ability to manage difficult and conflicting demands. You should be a good communicator and have the time to dedicate to making the league work. You will be accountable to the board of directors with a dedicated lead director.
You will be required to submit in writing are expression of interest letter which should highlight your suitability to undertake such and exciting yet demanding role. This is a voluntary position.
